  What is the best part about being an identical twin? 

TESSA: I think the best part of having a twin is having a constant friend, a sister who is more than just a sister and who GETS me more than anyone in the world.

TANYA: Having two closets-- we are the exact same size so often use each others clothes! Also always having a buddy to do things with when all my friends are being flakey!

What is the worst thing about it?   

TANYA: Getting very obvious stares as people try and figure out whether we are actually twins! It can be hard to form your own identity when people see us a joint pair-- like a pair of shoes that can't exist without being next to each other all the time!

TESSA: People getting confused all the time and when I find out that someone who I think is one of my best friends can't actually tell whether I am Tessa or Tanya. That never fails to shock me!

 

Have you ever read each other's thoughts?

 TESSA: I don't think we read it each others' thoughts per se. When Tanya starts telling a story to me or our friends, though, I somehow know what she is going to say before she says it. We also ALWAYS finish each other's sentences.

TANYA: As kids we used to sit for hours trying, but it never happened for us. I wish it had-- it would have made school exams much more fun!

Did you ever think you had special powers?

TESSA: I think we have more of a spiritual connection, she is like a 'special' part of me. If she is feeling sad or in trouble, I feel sick to my stomach. It goes beyond usual sympathy, to the point that I believe our souls are somehow joined. That's pretty special, I guess!

TANYA: We used to think that we could find each other anywhere if we ever got separated, using a special bond we shared. My dad called it our "twinny powers" and used to tell us to use them when one of us went missing during bath time! Whether we actually had any powers never really mattered!

How are you most different from each other?

TANYA: Our tastes in boys! Also-- Tessa tends to be very organized and together, while at times I am more absent-minded and all-over-the-place ...

TESSA: I think that I am more protective over her than she is of me, and I worry about things more than she does-- I am also fun, though!

    What books did you like when you were younger?

TESSA: My favorites were classics like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Faraway Tree. Because I was, and still am, so into horse riding, I also loved Flicka and The Black Stallion. I read a lot. Also, there was an author who rocked my world. Her name is Adele Griffin. Do you know her?? 

TANYA: As a child I LOVED The Chronicles of Narnia, The Secret Garden, The Far Away Tree, and Heidi. As a young teen I loved The Black Stallion, (or any horse story), Sweet Valley High and my absolute favorite, The Power of One.

 

Were you aware that the Witch Twins series was based on my interpretation of your separate personalities?

TANYA: No- not until I read the book and found myself thinking, "Hey, that kinda sounds like something I would do!" I was very flattered, I must admit.

TESSA: Um... No! That's cool though. Thanks! I kinda figured it was a weird coincidence that we met you and then you started the series a few years later.... I am flattered!
 

Did you ever want to be a witch?           

TESSA: I would love to be a witch. But a cool one, not like one of those old scary ones with big noses and smelly gray hair. I wanted to fly so badly, I could go anywhere on the world whenever I wanted. I would have been able to join you for tea and cookies every weekend. That would have been awesome

TANYA: Of course! Who wouldn't want to ride around on a broomstick and cast love spells on all the cute boys at school!

What do you like most about your freshman year of college?
 

TESSA: Everyone really wants to be here, works really hard to stay here and is set on enjoying it and making the most of every moment.

TANYA: Coffee breaks, Frisbee on the College Green, parties, forming my own notions on life and my place in it!

     What do you eat for breakfast?

TANYA: Starbucks- for a sugar-free vanilla latte, bran muffin and fruit smoothie!     Mmmmm...

TESSA: Breakfast is WONDERFUL. Favorite time of the day. I love cereal,  granola, bran or nutty.   All good.
             I love egg whites, omelets and orange juice. I need coffee too!

 

TANYA: No-- different dorms, but on the same side of campus!

TESSA: We still hang out and go jogging in the evenings together. We also spend time on the weekends ...

 

TESSA: My aunty dearest, you are my favorite without question, nobody could come close to being as cool as you are!

TANYA: Does that even qualify as a question?? Of course! Or at least my coolest aunt ;-)
